TPACK: A REFLECTIVE ESSAY 

 

As we tackled this topic last week, I found out that TPACK is a framework for technology integration that outlines three categories of knowledge that teachers must integrate for successful edtech integration: technical, pedagogical, and content knowledge. These 3 promote engagement and proper utilization effectively.  


As a future Teacher, I realized that the Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) discusses the best strategies for teaching specialized topics to your individual pupils, Technological Content Knowledge (TCK) is understanding how the digital tools available to you can enhance or transform the content, how it is delivered to students, and how your students can interact with it, while Technological Pedagogical Knowledge (TPK) is understanding how to use your digital tools as a vehicle to the learning outcomes and experiences you desire. Furthermore, the said topic was created in order to comprehend how to use technology for a better teaching approach, for instance using laptops, projectors and various educational apps. It also boosts the learnings of the students when it comes to technology and makes them entertained more since we all know that learners in this era are fond of modern teaching approaches. Take a look at this example, imagine that we are teaching anatomy and physiology about a system, it is acceptable if we engage students in traditional teaching method, but I think that it is more efficient if we teach them with the engagement of technology for a more better visualization and easy to pick up with the lesson. I understand that TPACK demonstrates that there is a link between technology, content, and pedagogy, and that their planned integration is critical. It also improves the collaborative learning of the students and enhances the idea regarding digital pedagogies that can include teaching approach, students’ attitudes, and desired learning outcomes. I am planning to know more about TPACK and not just improve the learning that I gained from it but to also apply it for our everyday life, especially in teaching for a greater, more entertainment teaching strategies and making students understand the lesson as easy as a piece of cake
