                                     REFLECTION: UNIT 2

A really lovely day to talk about the so-called "Bloom's Digital Taxonomy" in this unit's Lesson 3 is January 16, 2022. Ms. Britney Ciriaco and Ms. Richpearl Cajimat addressed it and served as examples of how to do so in a thorough and understandable manner. It was a topical topic that has been discussed as a need for drafting or writing a lesson plan, and I have truly offered my ears as they have gone through the conversation.

In order to assist educators or teachers in conceiving and providing in-depth lessons as digital technology is applied, Bloom's Taxonomy addresses the hierarchy of knowledge. It emphasizes the cognitive area, which involved the growth of intellectual capacity. Bloom's Taxonomy opens the path for creating extensive lessons that are required to be completely understood by the students as we create our lesson plan. The revision of this taxonomy, which used the verb as the original model, drew my eye as well. It was a bold step since it might have altered one's understanding of the hierarchy of knowledge, which places "creating" at the top and "understanding" as one of the lower-order thinking skills. My perspective has changed, and I've come to understand the true meaning of criticizing one's intelligence: creating at the peak, which is to say that it is the fundamental aspect in which making decisions based on the merits of ideas was the most underrated yet the highest order of thinking. I used to think that understanding was the hardest and highest-order thinking skill, but now I realize that it was also the most difficult.

The model “Bloom’s Taxonomy” was proposed not just to impact the decision-making of teachers in writing a lesson plan. It is not just about choosing the right word to be integrated into the lesson in order to make students grasp immense knowledge and practice enormous skills. As a matter of fact, this model represents the needs of our learners in terms  of enhancing their thinking skills and the teacher's need to achieve the objectives imposed.

The inevitable emergence of technology unclogs the barricade of delivering enhanced lessons, and educators will be able to teach lessons using higher-order thinking skills to young minds, those learners from the primary level. It was a key component that created a more possible and easier way of imposing knowledge to students but the most critical way for teachers in refilling the needs of their learners.

To serve as the wrap of this engaging lesson, Bloom’s Taxonomy has tremendously created a vast overview as I perceive the hierarchy of knowledge and the order of thinking skills. It seems like the model itself represent us, as educators and future educators because it is one of our basis to entrust and hand over lessons to our learners. It is our duty to develop them intellectually and even physically, we teach them beyond our heart’s burning passion. That is reality, if we accepted this challenge then we must pursue and uphold the responsibility because somehow we are one of their vehicles that guides them in the future.
